PT-141, also known as Bremelanotide, is a synthetic peptide derived from the melanocortin hormone α-MSH. Unlike other compounds that act on the vascular system, PT-141 works directly on the central nervous system by activating melanocortin receptors (MC3R and MC4R) in the brain.
